A journey back in time – from the oldest Slovenian town Ptuj to modern Maribor with a fairytale setting and home of the world's oldest vine. Could not imagine a more proper place for some wine tasting of the area's most representative brands.
Tales of wine-making tradition and authentic local customs all wrapped into this charming tour slightly off the beaten track. A unique experience around eastern Slovenia with Ptuj, former Roman settlement and the oldest Slovenian town, Maribor, the center of the region and the second largest city, together with wine tasting of the local brands in delightful local wineries. An adventure full of history, culture and local delights.
A unique opportunity to visit this wonderful part of Slovenia, east of the capital and home to warm-hearted people and beautiful wine roads. From Ljubljana to Ptuj, once a Roman settlement and Slovenia’s oldest town with a rich history and many landmarks to prove it. Some time to explore the city with major historical and cultural attractions followed by wine tasting (optional).
Our next stop is Maribor, the lively center of the Slovenian Styria region and proud owner of the world’s oldest vine. After the guided city tour, there will be some free time for lunch in one of the local taverns. For the wine enthusiasts another opportunity for wine tasting to get fully acquainted with the century-long wine culture of the whole eastern region. Arrival back to Ljubljana in evening hours.

Samples of wine will be served at each winery throughout the tour. According to the law wine and other alcohol beverages are not served to persons under the age of 18.
If you are based in any other Slovenian city, there is no reason why you should miss touring with us.
This tour is a fabulous opportunity to really get to know the local cuisine and traditional delicacies of two different Slovenian regions. Do not miss out trying any of those while tasting wine or at choosing your stop for lunch – go local!

Tale of Maribor, Ptuj and Wine day tour
A fabulous day tour, visiting Eastern Slovenia. Our guide, Sanjin, was an excellent guide, with immense knowledge of both Slovenian culture/history and the Jeruzalem Wine region. He also had a great sense of humour. The tour covers Maribor, the oldest Slovenian town of Pjui, and the wine region of Jeruzalem. A must tour.

Tale of Maribor, Ptuj and Wine
Our trip with Roundabout was really brilliant! Our tour guide- Spela, was very knowledgeable and passionate about her own country. Maribor and Ptuj are little towns with unparalleled history of their own. The wine road in Jeruzalem was simply beautiful. As student backpackers, we still managed to savour a glass of young wine and the lovely scenery along with the rich history. Definitely recommend this tour for those who just wants a chill/ relaxing day out.

Thoughtful, resourceful guide
We are so glad we took this tour with Luka. He is informed, reflective, and responsive. When one detail went awry (not his fault), we were able to regroup and press on for a wonderful experience.
